Dean Hipwell and the CDH Racing Team endured another frustrating weekend but managed to pick up a valuable seven points in the British Supersport Championship, writes Roy Cross.

A collection of problems, which included an oil leak and issues with cornering, saw Harworth’s Hipwell take 14th and 11th place finishes at Donington Park.

The ninth round saw Hipwell only managed seven laps in qualifying due to the suspected oil leak.

But a quick lap time saw the rider start from 18th.

He was gradually able to move up the field before bringing the CDH Triumph across the finishing line in 14th spot.

Hipwell’s fastest lap would then see him start, again, from 18th place for Sunday afternoon’s feature race.

He started well, racing into 12th spot before a crash brought out the safety car.

Resuming action, issues with braking saw Hipwell being forced to drop back into 13th by the 10th lap. He eventually climbed into 11th place at the chequered flag, clinching seven points.
