Denaby prospect Conner Kelsall is aiming to further enhance his growing reputation at this weekend’s 2016 England Boxing Youth Championships in Rotherham.

Tom Hill fighter Kelsall became a national ABA junior cadet champion last year.

Having turned 17, he now aims to make a similar impression at youth level.

Coach Paul Neilson said: “Conner’s at the top of his game right now.

“He’s progressed all the way through from cadet level to youth and now he’s knocking on the door of the seniors.

“He’s boxing well at the moment so he’s very much in contention this weekend.”

Five-time Yorkshire champion Kelsall will fight in the quarter-finals on Friday, at the Magna Centre.

The tournament continues into Saturday and Sunday (weigh in 10am-noon, doors noon, boxing 1pm).

Tickets priced £15 for adults and £5 concessions will be available on the door.
