Doncaster’s Liam Ramsay has been added to the British Athletics team for the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

Ramsay, from Edlington, is part of a 32-strong British team for the event taking place in Belgrade, Serbia, from March 3-5.

The City of Sheffield AC decathlete won the England Athletics Indoor Combined Events title in Sheffield last month.

In the process he posted the fourth highest ever score by a British man in the indoor heptathlon.

Ramsay will compete in the Combined Events alongside Ashley Bryant from Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow Athletic Club.

Ramsay joined Doncaster Athletic Club as a ten-year-old but left around six years ago to join City of Sheffield, where he is coached by former international decathlete Mike Corden.
