Britain’s never-ending ghastly winter saw the William Hill Lincoln abandoned due to the weather for the first time, but in these days of flexibility the Doncaster card has been rearranged for next Saturday.

Clerk of the course Roderick Duncan called off the card following a 6am inspection.

He said there had been about two to three inches of snow overnight and it was still falling.”

Saturday was a total wipeout on the day for racing on grass in this country but the show was kept on the road thanks to a late card organised on the Fibresand at Southwell.
