Doncaster loses major darts tournament

DONCASTER will no longer host the PDC Players Championship Finals after the event was switched to Minehead.

The last two Players Championship Finals have been held at the Dome, with Kevin Painter taking the honours in the last staging in December.

The tournament had initially been pencilled in for Doncaster in early December but organisers have opted to switch to the Butlins resort in Minehead.

Crowds at the Dome for the four day event had not been particularly large and it appears the PDC are hoping to create a festival-like set-up around the competition with multi-day travel packages already on sale.
