DONCASTER Dartes ace Joe Litchfield stole the show at the North Eastern Regional Championships by winning a magnificent SEVEN gold medals.
The 13-year-old won the 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 400m individual medley during the first weekend of competition at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
And he followed that up with gold in the 100m butterfly, 200m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 200m backstroke a week later in Leeds.
For good measure, Litchfield picked up a silver medal in 200m butterfly.
And he also joined Jarvis Parkinson, George Scatchard and Alex Pollard in the relay team that won the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle.
Dartes press officer Jo Wright said: “It was an absolute pleasure to watch Joe swim, especially in the breaststroke where nobody was anywhere near him.
“As a club the medals were flowing and it was an outstanding couple of weekends for the Dartes.”
Parkinson shrugged off a knee injury to win silver in 100m freestyle and a bronze in 100m butterfly, while Pollard claimed a silver in 200m backstroke and bronzes in 400m medley and 1500m freestyle.
Scatchard also won a silver medal in 200m backstroke, while Mark Beech defended his 100m backstroke crown by winning gold for a third year running.
Shannon Dodson won two gold medals in 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle.
Matthew Jubb (200m freestyle), Natasha Crow (200m butterfly) and Chantelle Waugh (400m medley) also won bronze medals.
