STEVE Davies’ sprint finish saw him take the honours in the recent Ray Levers Handicap Road Race.
The Harworth & District Cycling Club organised event, held in Blyth, attracted a field of 80 cyclists from across the country earlier this month.
Davies, of the Onimpex Bioracer team, burst clear in a bunch sprint for the finish line to win by a gap of three bike lengths.
Runner up John Hopper from Cottingham Couriers was closely followed by Harworth rider Robin McKinnon who secured third.
It is the second year running that the Ray Levers Memorial Road Race has been organised by Harworth & District CC.
The race is run over seven laps of a circuit near Torworth with a total distance of approximately 33 miles, with the riders separated into three groups based on their age and ability.
Race winner Davies collected a first prize of a £100 voucher from race sponsors Planet-x Bikes of Rotherham.
