CYCLING legend Kevin Dawson left the opposition in his wake to win the first ever Doncaster Triathlon.

Dawson, an 11-time winner of British Cycling’s Best All-Rounder competition, clocked an impressive time of 2:02:46 to finish first by some distance – almost three minutes clear of the rest of the field.

A total of 66 triathletes descended on Hatfield Water Park on Sunday morning to tackle the gruelling course: a 1,500m swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run.
