Jason Cunningham is determined to continue the ‘once in a lifetime’ success Doncaster boxing is currently enjoying.
The Woodlands fighter faces Nasibu Ramadhani for the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title on Friday night, in a bout rearranged from a fortnight ago.
Following Gavin McDonnell’s European title triumph in March and Jamie McDonnell’s successful world title defence last weekend, Doncaster boxing is riding an incredible wave of success.
And former ABA champion Cunningham is determined to join the party.
“I don’t think it’s ever been as good as this for Doncaster boxing and I’d be surprised if it ever was again,” the 25-year-old said. “When I win this fight on Friday the collection of belts in the town will be superb.
“Think of the picture. Me with the Commonwealth title and Jamie and Gav with all their belts.
“I want a piece of that.”
