Trades Club overcame Askern Sports in the Doncaster and District Veterans Doubles League - but lost the 2015 title to West End Bentley by the narrowest of margins.
West End triumphed 3-0 at Hawthorn Social and finished level with Trades on 14 points - but took the title with one more victory than their rivals.
Trades, who won at West End last week to leapfrog their hosts into top spot, continued their good form with a dominant 2-1 win.
Askern started well, though, and took the colours to clinch the first frame 68-56.
But Trades bounced back in the second, Henry Morris and an under-the-weather Pete Spencer unable to match Richard Kilby and Alan Marley who won 57-17.
And Marley returned for the final frame win as he and Alan Dykes triumphed 54-9.
Elsewhere, West End and Wheatley Club enjoyed a similar margin of victory over Catholic Club.
The clash between Hatfield Main and White Hart went the distance, with Tom Booth and Maurice Ball holding their nerve to pot the vital black to beat John Galbraith and Derrick Jennings 51-48 in the final frame.
In the B League, Askern Welfare beat Bentley Top Club 2-1 and Intake Social triumphed by the same scoreline against Woodlands Snooker.
In the process, Askern sealed the league title, with Intake finishing runners-up two points behind.
