Danum Eagles launched a new era for basketball in Doncaster at their annual All-Star Weekend.

The club’s new men’s team took to the court for the first time ahead of their National League bow in September, narrowly losing to the North of England All Stars (83-84) and Wales (78-92).

Eagles’ head coach Bob Martin said: “The Eagles made a huge impression on a packed house. They showed there’s great things to come. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for the club.”

Eagles will play in Division Four of the National League, almost two decades since Doncaster Panthers folded.

Eagles’ under 18 side, meanwhile, got the better of an Eagles Veterans team by beating them 81-72. Sonny Singh was voted MVP.

Another Eagles Vets side also beat Wales 79-73 in another entertaining game. Mathew Martin was voted MVP.
