Doncaster basketball star Rob Marsden has tipped Danum Eagles to reach the top.

Eagles begin life in Division Four of the National League in September - the first time a team from the town has competed at national level since Doncaster Panthers folded.

And Marsden - who starred for Manchester Giants in last season’s BBL - expects big things from Doncaster’s newest team.

“I think in Division Four they’ll be one of the top teams,” said the 25-year-old, from Tickhill.

“I’d like to think they can get through Division Four and Division Three in the first two seasons.

“They won’t be messing around.

“I think they’ll be absolutely fine, especially with players like Tom Hodson and Paul Walsh,” he added.

“It’s in good hands. They’ve got a lot of players coming to sessions and they’ve got to whittle that down before the season starts.”

Marsden recently left Manchester Giants to join French club Cognac.
