London Skolars 22 Doncaster 36
TWO tries from winger Joe Brown enabled the Dons to record their second Northern Rail Cup win over the Skolars.
Brown scored in the corner after five minutes, with Paul Crook converting, but the hosts replied through an unconverted Paul Thorman try just after the half hour.
A devastating five minute spell either side of the break put Doncaster in command as they led 18-4 at half time.
Hooker Corey Lawrie burst from dummy half to score between the posts and new signing Zebastian Luisi, who was introduced from the bench, set up Brown for his second try.
Straight from the restart the Dons all but wrapped up victory as Dean Colton burst down the wing before teeing up scrum half Kyle Wood.
The plucky hosts clawed scores back through Stevie Gibbons and Wayne Kerr but Crook seized upon Lawrie's grubber kick to score before prop Craig Lawton raced 50 metres to put the Dons further ahead.
Skolars notched the final try of the afternoon through Dene Miller, with Thorman adding the extras, but Crook kicked the last of his six goals to deny them a bonus point.
Dons: Gale, Brown, Leaf, Bauer, Colton, Crook, Wood, Benson, Lawrie, Lawton, Buttery, Hart, Green. Subs (all used): Jones, Luisi, Faal, Castle.
* The Dons have released centre Damian Munro, winger Darren Woods and back rower Chris Lyth from their contracts to make way for new signings.
