KNIGHTS suffered a fourth straight Championship defeat at the Richmond Athletic Ground but at least grabbed a losing bonus point.
Brett Davey’s side burst out of the blocks and raced into a 14-0 lead courtesy of tries from Dougie Flockhart and Tyson Lewis.
But a much-improved Scottish outfit, who included former Doncaster favourite PJ Gidlow, roared back to take a 22-14 advantage into the interval.
David Howells, Mark Bright and Scottish international Phil Godman all touched down for the hosts to turn the game on its head.
Chris Hallam went over for the visitors to reduce the deficit but a controversial penalty try and a late Paul Spivey score took the game out of reach.
Winger Lewis notched a superb consolation effort in the last minute when he ran over from half way but Doncaster had to settle for their second losing bonus point of the season.
