MEMBERS of Adwick le Street’s World Fitness Gym went to a bodybuilding show as spectators but returned with armfuls of trophies.

The Five Towns Bodybuilding and Strength Competition gave the audience the chance to take to the stage themselves, giving people the opportunity to sample the world of competitive body building.

And Highfields 15-year-old Jake Scorer finished first in the junior category.

Jake’s dad Andy Scorer was second in the beginner’s category followed by fellow World Fitness members Mick O’Conner and Gary Nicholls, who also finished third in the 80kg log lift challenge.

Alicia Carrera, Danielle Scorer and Courtney Scorer took second, third and fourth respectively in the women’s 12kg kettlebell lift.

The Pontefract-based competition was held to raise £5,000 to sponsor a guide dog.
