DONCASTER KNIGHTS: Griffiths snaps up code switching Will Sharp

INCOMING: Will Sharp has switched from rugby league to union to sign for the Knights.

INCOMING: Will Sharp has switched from rugby league to union to sign for the Knights.

CLIVE Griffiths has moved to add some pace to the Knights’ ranks with the signing of the highly-rated Will Sharp, which will be confirmed later today.

The 26-year-old will make the switch from rugby league as he searches for a return to full fitness following a medial ligament injury suffered last summer.

Sharp came to prominence at Harlequins RL in the Super League, showing superb pace and the power to break tackles.

After sweeping the board at Quins’ end of season awards in 2010, he joined Hull FC, becoming a first choice player in the Super League.

It is believed that Sharp is looking for a route back to the Super League after suffering a potentially career-threatening injury playing for Hull last season.

The Nigeria-born speedster – who grew up in Bradford – has taken up the opportunity to regain his fitness playing at Castle Park, helping the Knights’ battle against the drop.
