WORLD champion Brad Rickaby wants this weekend’s first ever Doncaster jet ski meeting to be the launch pad for his latest title assault.
Lakeside will host round three of the British Jet Ski Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
The event will feature plenty of fast and furious action from more than 80 of the country’s best riders.
Much of the attention, however, will focus on Hatfield teenager Rickaby (pictured right).
The 19-year-old won gold in the Novice Stock class at the the IJSBA World Finals in Arizona last year.
Rickaby said: “I’ll have lots of mates down at Lakeside and I can’t wait to get out there and show them what I can do.
“I’ve finished second to James Bushell in every Stock and Super Stock race so far this season so it’d be nice to beat him in my own backyard.”
Current world number one Bushell, who can reach a speed of 60mph from zero in two seconds, and five-times world ladies champion Anya Colley are set to thrill a large Lakeside crowd.
Doncaster will also be represented in the GP class by former British junior champion Matt Edwards.
Racing starts from 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is free and parking is available at the Keepmoat Stadium.
