DONCASTER Knights need to win at least five of their remaining games to avoid relegation from the Championship, according to boss Clive Griffiths.

Bottom side Doncaster host London Scottish in a crucial basement battle at Castle Park tonight (7.45pm).

Griffiths said: “We’re in a very dire situation but we’re still battling and we’ll keep on battling to the end.

“We’ve got nine games to go and I’d say if we didn’t win fifty per cent of them we’re not going to stay up.

“I don’t care if we win every game by one point as long as we get the result.

“I don’t think that’s beyond us at all because I’ve seen some really positive stuff since I arrived.

“We need that morale-boosting win to kick start the next couple of months and we need to get that against London Scottish.”

Griffiths bolstered his squad this week with the addition of rugby league winger Will Sharp, who has switched codes after playing for Hull FC last summer.

“He has proved himself in one of the toughest rugby environments with Hull and Harlequins in the Super League and has a track record as a finisher,” said Griffiths.

“Will also has the ability to play in several positions across the back line, and is familiar with the union code even if most of his experience is in league.”

Hooker Rhys Buckley returns from suspension tonight.
