THE future is looking bright at Toll Bar ARLFC.

The club’s growing junior section has another shining light in its Under 10 age group who have just completed a successful season.

Toll Bar went unbeaten for much of the 2012 campaign in the Yorkshire Junior League and only lost by two points in a couple of games towards the end of the season.

While there are no competitive standings at the age group, Yorkshire League chiefs have opted to move Toll Bar up to the top tier when they move up to Under 11 level next year.

The team are coached by recently retired Dons back row Craig Lawton who is very optimistic about the group’s future.

He said: “It’s been a great year for the lads and we’re really proud with what they’ve done.

“There was only half a dozen of them when we started out, they’ve grown into a proper little squad and they’ve had a lot of success.

“Next year they’ll have the chance to go up against some of the best clubs in Yorkshire and they’ll be able to show how good they are.

“I definitely think there’s a few future Dons players in this side.”

The growth in size of the Under 10s squad has been mirrored across the age groups at Toll Bar, ensuring a thriving junior section for the Prospect Road club.
