BILLY Sharp's double couldn't prevent Rovers sliding to a third straight defeat.
The 12-goal striker fired Doncaster ahead brilliantly after just six minutes and was on target with a diving header after the break.
But Rovers' defensive problems reared their ugly head yet again at Portman Road as they conceded three times in a crazy 20-minute spell - meaning Sean O'Driscoll's side have now let in 15 goals in their last five outings.
David Norris volleyed the Tractor Boys level three minutes after the restart and the hosts were ahead on the hour when Connor Wickham headed in Colin Healy's left wing cross.
Straight from the restart Sharp bundled home James Coppinger's centre - although the final touch may have belonged to Town defender Gareth McAauley.
But three minutes later Carlos Edwards' long range drive deflected past Neil Sullivan to earn Paul Jewell his first league win as Ipswich boss.
