Thornhurst Park resumed its activities following the enforced break caused by the snow with its Saturday Stableford, writes John Molloy.

Bob Berry finished level on 39 points with George Andrewatha but took first place on countback. In third with 38 points was Pete Unwin.

The Sunday Medal resulted in a clear win for John Selby with a net 66.

Countback was needed to separate the minor places with Paul Phillips’ score of 73 just pipping that of Neil Roberts for second place.

Doncaster Town Moor also got things moving again with Frank Glover winning the Saturday Stableford with 41 points.

Some way back countback was needed to separate Paul Miller in second place from Steve Turner, third, both having returned 36 points.

At Doncaster Golf Club the mens’ Monday Stableford was won by John Molloy with 38 points from Bryan Ward (37) in second place and Bill Worsfold (36) third.

Sharing fourth place on were Gary Garside and Andy Walker, followed by a four-way tie for sixth place between Tony Buckton, Ray Knowles, Alan Hessell and Mansell Heslip.

In the ladies’ Monday Stableford Jane Daughtery was the winner with 32 points ahead of Jill McGarvie on 21.

The ladies’ Wednesday Stableford over nine holes went to Judith Fearns with 20 points ahead of Sue Sanderson in second place with 19 points.

There was a four-way tie for third place on 18 points involving Jill McGarvie, Sue Harbon, Sarah Newton and Kirsty Wilson.

In the ninth round of the Junior League, Connor Longworth came first with 33 points ahead of Jack Woodiwiss (30).

The Saturday Niblicks Stableford was won by another junior member, Connor Simms with 39 points.

He was followed by a three-way tie for second between Bob Nicholson, Phil Mirfin and Tony Andrew.

As a footnote, well done to the unsung heroes, the greenkeepers, whose sterling efforts ensured our courses were quickly brought back to a playable state following the bad weather.
