Doncaster Belles (Women’s) Development side put in a spirited display against the experienced players from Oughtibridge who ran out 5-0 winners.

The opening round of fixtures in Sheffield and Hallam County Women’s League Division Two sees six new teams in the competition including the newly-formed Belles.

Oughtibridge are strong favourites to be fighting for the league title following their formation as several players from Killamarsh (who finished runners-up in the Derbyshire League Division One last year) moved to the club.

Meanwhile, a brace from Gemma Harte guided Rovers Foundation Ladies to a 2-0 win over Doncaster Belles (Women’s) in their opening fixture in the North East Women’s Regional League Southern Division.
