IT’S that time again!

Dunscroft Welfare Under 11s were recently crowned our first ever Team of the Month.

Now we want you to decide who wins the award for Decemeber.

Teams across the league are now taking a well-earned two-week winter break - but not before some exceptional performances this month.

But your league secretaries are not just looking for the best teams - they are keen to reward the sides who play the game in the right way.

Our public vote for December’s Team of the Month opens on Thursday and closes on Monday, January 9 - so there is plenty of time to get your choice to us at the sports desk.

Pick up a copy of Thursday’s Free Press, fill in the coupon and return it to us.

This month’s nominations are:

Under 11 - Danum United

Danum are unbeaten in Division One and still in with a chance of a treble, including the League Cup and Goole & Thorne Cup. They also boast U11 leading goalscorer Louie De-Rosa, who has 38 goals in league and cup.

Under 12 - Armthorpe Rovers

Rovers achieved their first win of the season in the First Division after losing all their fixtures so far. This was a welcome win for the boys who have gamely battled away all season.

Under 13 - Branton Juniors

Branton have been nominated for the consistency of their play and sportsmanship from players and coach alike, whether they win, lose or draw.

Under 14 - Hemsworth Terriers

The Terriers are joint top of Division One and still unbeaten. They also went to third placed Premier Division side Tickhill Juniors and won 2-1 to progress into the League Cup semi-finals.

Under 15 - South Kirkby Knights

Division Two Knights gave quadruple league and cup champions Armthorpe Rovers, from the Premier Division, an almighty scare before going down to a narrow 3-2 defeat.

Under 16 - Adwick Park Rangers

Adwick are a team who show commitment, desire and a passion to do well. This team are a good example of players participating for the love and enjoyment of the game.

Under 17 - Rossington Main

Main, despite struggling for players, have displayed an upbeat approach to the game. Their outstanding attitude with regard to the Codes of Conduct and the Respect campaign has been noted by other managers.
