DONCASTER Rovers have hope for the future!

A miserable season ended in style this week - thanks to the club’s cup-winning youth side.

Rovers proudly lifted the Football League Youth Alliance Cup for the first time in their history after an emphatic 4-0 win at Exeter City on Tuesday night.

Striker Jordan Ball scored twice, while goals from captain Brett Lucas and Josh Meade capped a fine season for Paul Stancliffe’s under 18 team.

Chairman John Ryan said: “I’m delighted for Paul Wilson (head of youth) and Paul Stancliffe (youth team coach).

“It was a great result for them, the players and Doncaster Rovers.

“The two Pauls do a great job and both know a good prospect.

“The young players are our future now and I don’t think there will be one Rovers supporter who disagrees with me.

“There is nothing more exciting than seeing your own products come through and do well in the first team.

“If they are good enough, as was proved with James Husband, then Dean will give them a go that’s for sure.”
