Waiting for Video...

THE Dons painted the town blue and gold on Saturday as they brought the curtain down on a memorable 2012 campaign.

Officials and players took to an open top bus before being greeted by hundreds of cheering fans outside the Mansion House, where the squad enjoyed a civic reception.

Coach Tony Miller, who guided the club to the Co-operative Championship One league title and play-off double, said: “You’ve got to give a lot of credit to the mayor and the council for putting it on for us.

“The players enjoyed it and myself and all the people associated with the club did so as well.

“It’s a real honour for us.”

Chief executive Carl Hall added: “A day like this is thoroughly deserved - the supporters have been fantastic this season.”
