When Rovers meet Portsmouth again on April 14, it could be a key game in the relegation fight.

DONCASTER Rovers have been handed a survival lifeline after Portsmouth went into administration for the second time in three seasons.

The south coast club could be deducted as many as 20 points as a result of the administration order.

A ten-point deduction, which is the least they face, would see Pompey plummet to fourth bottom in the Championship - and they would be just one point better off than Rovers.

Portsmouth were issed with a winding-up order by HM Revenue and Customs on January 3.

The club have an unpaid tax bill believed to be in the region of £1.9m.

Pompey have been searching for new owners after parent company Convers Sports Initiatives went into administration in November.
