DONCASTER Rovers director of football Mickey Walker is on the mend after undergoing emergency heart surgery.

The 66-year-old collapsed at Rovers’ Cantley Park training ground on Monday.

He was treated by the club’s medical staff before being rushed to Northern General Hospital where he had a stent inserted into a blocked artery.

Walker, who spent a couple of games on the touchline assisting new boss Dean Saunders earlier in the season, will spend the rest of the week in hospital.
