Doncaster Rovers set to show their hand at Forum for the Future

DICK Watson and Terry Bramall’s return to Doncaster Rovers’ board of directors is expected to be confirmed at the club’s Forum for the Future event, the Free Press understands.
The major shareholders stepped down from the board in January but are set to return after gaining assurances on how the club will be run.
Their expected return comes hot on the heels of an agreement with Doncaster Council that Rovers will take control of the Keepmoat Stadium on July 1.
Watson and Bramall are expected to field questions from both the media and Rovers fans at the club’s free-to-attend Forum for the Future open day event on Monday, June 18.
The day will begin with a press conference for the local media before chairman John Ryan hosts a question and answer session with fans.
A club statement about the event said: “John Ryan plus other major shareholders will be in attendance giving all Rovers fans the opportunity to discuss the club.
“Despite a difficult 12 months the future is looking bright for Doncaster Rovers with several changes taking place behind the scenes at the club.
“One of the most notable changes is the plan for the management of Keepmoat Stadium to be transferred to Rovers control in July.
“The club meeting will give fans the opportunity to ask questions on what this decision means for the club moving forward and the impact this decision will have on the club’s playing budget.”
Watson’s resignation earlier this year was because of health reasons, according to a Rovers statement in January.
Bramall, who has rarely spoken in public about his involvement with the club, was thought to have lost interest in the football side of the business.
The pair are thought to have a combined wealth of approximately £750million - although it is still unclear whether their impending return will lead to a loosening of the pursestrings for boss Dean Saunders.
Supporters wishing to attend the question and answer session, which will be held at 6.15pm in the East Stand, must have a ticket in order to gain entry.
Tickets can be collected, free of charge, from the Keepmoat Stadium ticket office.
