Doncaster Rovers: Brian Flynn eyes loan men

Chris Brown

BRIAN Flynn admits he may be forced to dip into the loan market after losing Chris Brown for at least the next month.

The striker suffered a knee ligament injury during the defeat to Walsall, leaving Billy Paynter and Emile Sinclair the only two fit recognised out-and-out forwards.

And after watching his side battle out a dire 0-0 draw with MK Dons last night, Flynn conceded he may have to look to bring in cover before next Monday’s trip to Crawley Town.

Flynn has been reluctant to play his limited hand too quickly in the loan market and pledged to only bring in players when the situation got desperate.

But with Rovers hardly firing on all cylinders, Brown and Iain Hume injured and Paynter attempting to shake off illness, desperate levels may have been reached.

“We might have to act now because all of a sudden quite a few players aren’t available to us.”

Flynn also said Andy Griffin – withdrawn at half time against MK Dons – is likely to miss at least the next two weeks.
