Diouf aims to spearhead El of a revival

DONCASTER Rovers striker El Hadji Diouf can expect a warm reception from home supporters in tonight’s home game against high-flying Blackpool.
The Senegalese international, who has quickly become a fans favourite after joining Rovers on a short-term contract, rejected bigger financial offers from clubs abroad when committing himself to the South Yorkshire club for at least another six months just prior to the postponed home game against Reading.
Rovers have another 12-month option as part of the deal and Diouf told The Star that he’d be happy to stay on if the club retained their Championship status.
Despite his ‘bad boy’ reputation prior to joining Rovers - which results in him being booed whenever he plays - the 31-year-old has hardly barely put a foot wrong since arriving at the Keepmoat Stadium and is well liked and respected by his team-mates.
Meanwhile, Rovers Red and White Half Time Draw will have an extra special prize on offer in tonight’s home encounter with the Seasiders.
In addition to cash prizes of £350 and £50, people buying a £1 ticket on the night will also have the opportunity to win the No 10 shirt Diouf wore and signed at the media conference at the Keepmoat Stadium when he put pen top paper on a new contract just prior to the postponed home game against Reading.
Sellers will be inside the ground at all the turnstiles and will also be circulating the outside of the Keepmoat and then in the Premier Lounge and private boxes.
The draw is made at half time by the referee and the results will be shown are on the electric scoreboard within seconds, in the boxes and Premier Lounge, directors’ lounge and on a board that is carried around the ground and given out three times on the PA system.
