ROVERS LATEST: Burge in contention for Millwall trip

DEADLINE day signing Ryan Burge could be thrown into the Lions’ Den tomorrow.

The 23-year-old midfielder - who as a teenager was rated as one of the country’s hottest prospects - joined on a short-term deal from Spanish side Jerez Industrial CF on Monday.

Burge was forced to sit out Tuesday night’s crucial 1-0 win over Burnley but looks set to travel to Millwall as Sean O’Driscoll wrestles with yet another injury crisis.

James Hayter (Achilles) is definitely ruled out and James Coppinger (ankle) is rated extremely doubtful for the trip to the New Den.

Hayter was due to have a scan today - with Rovers keen to allay fears the forward will be out for the rest of season.

Coppinger is a major doubt after badly bruising his ankle in the hard fought victory over Burnley.

Goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, meanwhile, is thought to have suffered a reaction to the injury that kept him out on Tuesday and Gary Woods is again likely to deputise between the posts.

Centre backs Matt Kilgallon and Adam Lockwood are still out, along with fellow defenders Wayne Thomas, Shelton Martis, Mustapha Dumbuya and Joseph Mills.
