Price is right for lucky youngsters

SPECIAL GUEST: Former Rovers striker Jason Price joined in at a session at ex-boss Dave Penney's football academy.

THE Afro Goal Machine has made his return to the Keepmoat.

But Jason Price will not be turning out for Dean Saunders’ side next season.

The 35-year-old was on hand to help out at former boss Dave Penney’s new football academy, coaching youngsters at one of the recent weekly sessions.

The striker finished the season with Guiseley in the Blue Square North after being released by Morecambe.

Price has taken his coaching badges and jumped at the chance to help out his old boss.

He said: “I love coaching kids, especially as I now have my FA coaching badges so I was pleased when I got the call from Dave.

“I’m not playing at the moment as I found Morecambe too far to travel each day.

“I’ve also trained as a plumber but I’m on the dole at the moment as I look round what to do.”

The Dave Penney Football Academy runs every Wednesday evening on the Keepmoat astroturf pitches between 6-8pm.
