Courtney Sweetman-Kirk says Doncaster Rovers Belles only have eyes for the FAWSL2 title ahead of tonight’s home meeting with Everton (7.45pm).

Belles require six more points to mathematically guarantee finishing in one of the two automatic promotion spots - but second best will just not do.

“We can secure promotion, but if we do it now or any time before the end of the season it will be more than welcome,” said Sweetman-Kirk, who scored a hat trick in Belles’ recent 3-2 win over Everton in the Continental Cup.

“But I speak for the rest of the girls and the staff at Donny in saying that we want to go up as champions and that is our No.1 aim.

“The cup game against Everton wasn’t that long ago so we’ll get a lot of confidence from that, but anyone in the league can take points off each other so we can’t get complacent either.

“Everton have a lot of young, talented players and after that cup game I imagine they will want to come out with a point to prove. We can’t take anything for granted.”
