A nine-goal rout for the second week in a row has kept Doncaster Belles’ under-18s on top of the league with a game in hand.
Straight from the kick-off, the travelling Belles took the game to Sheffield United and could have been two up in the first ten minutes if it was not for some fine goalkeeping from the home team.
Sheffield’s defence held strong and kept the rampant Belles strikers at bay for a good 15 minutes until Caitlin Gunnell made a pacey run behind the defence and fired home her first of the game.
Gunnell went on to get her second moments later.
The first half finished 5-0 to the visitors with further goals coming from Kesley O’Driscoll, Lori Hudson and Danni Walker.
Goals seven, eight and nine followed after the break via Walker, Libby Challinor and KD Roberts with the final goal going to Belles’ No.7 striker Jasmine Saxton for 9-0.
