Seven goals on their travels helped Doncaster Belles under-15s to a strong victory, writes Nigel Watson.

The Belles had to reshuffle their side following the loss of goalkeeper Sam Boulton through illness.

However, Toyah Perry stepped inbetween the sticks and produced a magnificent performance to help her side on to a 7-1 win over Wickersley.

Both teams battled against the elements as Wickersley struck the post before a fine effort from Jess Hassell gave Doncaster an interval lead.

Belles then began to move the ball better with the host’s ‘keeper saving well from the Doncaster attackers.

However, she could do little about the good finishing from Naomi Oldridge, Chloe Dean, Chanele Thomson, Roza Frydrych, Mollie Cliffe and a second for Jess Hassell who completed the rout.

Wickersley got a deserved consolation goal.

Stand-in shot-stopper Toyah Perry was awarded ‘Lass of the Grass’.

The under-15s are next in cup action away to Beighton Magpies on Saturday.
