Two talented Doncaster Rovers Belles teenagers are one step away from clinching a dream European Championship final bow with the England under-17s.
Sixteen-year-old forwards Jemma Purfield (number three pictured in team shot) and Ellie Wilkinson (pictured) are currently enjoying international duty for England.
The Belles duo have featured in all of England’s group matches which saw them defeated narrowly by Italy (1-0) before clinching a 2-1 win over Austria and a 6-1 drubbing of Portugal.
Those results have led to the Young Lionnesses setting up a showpiece semi-final against Spain which takes place tonight (8pm) at Burton Albion FC’s stadium.
A win could see England face a final bow against either Italy or Germany who lock horns tonight at 6pm.
* Meanwhile, first team Belles boss Gordon Staniforth has vowed to rebuild the club in a bid to see them bounce straight back into FAWSL1 following their controversial ‘relegation’ last season.
