Glen Harris is the new manager of Doncaster Rovers Belles.

The former Lincoln Ladies boss fills the void that was left following Gordon Staniforth’s resignation in October.

Harris’ appointment ends his long association with women’s football in Lincoln.

He guided the Lady Imps to fifth in FAWSL in 2012 in his second spell as manager.

Following his departure later that year, Harris had been working as technical director at Lincoln’s Centre of Excellence.

Harris said: “I’m really honoured to be asked to be the new Doncaster Rovers Belles head coach.

“It’s a well established women’s club with a great history in the game and it’s an honour to be a part of the Belles.

“I’m excited to be back involved in the FAWSL after a couple of years out,” he added.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the season and bringing the success to the Belles that they greatly deserve.”

Belles say they attracted applicants from as far afield as Italy, Belgium and Croatia.

However, it was Harris’s ‘ability, experience and approach to training’, as well as his familiarity with several members of the current Belles squad, that saw him land the job.

Belles director of football Julie Chipchase said: “Glen has experience at the top level of the women’s game, knows many of our players and brings an impressive footballing philosophy to the Belles.

“I am particularly excited to be working with Glen on the next stages of developing our younger players and academy structure.”
