BELLES moved off the bottom of the FA Women’s Super League as they came from behind to stun Lincoln.
The home side burst out of the blocks and Rachel Daly headed home Lucy Staniforth’s 11th minute corner to put them ahead.
But two first half goals inside a minute from Millie Bright and Katie Holtham ensured the Belles picked up their first points of the season.
Bright rose higher than Lady Imps keeper Nicola Hobbs to equalise and less than 60 seconds later Holtham bundled home a corner to turn the game on its head.
Belles had to dig deep in the second half as Lincoln, led in attack by former Belles star Precious Hamilton, pressed for an equaliser.
But Doncaster held out - much to the delight of boss John Buckley.
“We’ve been due a win,” he said.
“I’ve got a lot of faith in the girls. They dug deep and did ever so well.
“We’re really pleased with the result because we knew how difficult this game was going to be.
“This could be a stepping stone for us. Hopefully we can build on this result.”
