JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Time to choose our next top team

editorial image

WHO will follow in the footsteps of Barnby Dun Rovers U11 and be crowned the Free Press Team of the Month for October?

Well, that decision is down to you.

Each of the seven age group secretaries have put forward a team they believe is worthy of that honour.

And it is now your turn to select the winner from this month’s special seven.

Read through the nominations, fill in the form in this week’s Free Press and return it to us by Monday, November 19.

The nominations are:

Under 11

Adwick Park Rangers

Rangers have blitzed their rivals in goalscoring terms, netting 58 goals already this season and conceding just eight, sending them into the cup quarter finals and in firm contention for promotion.

Under 12

Sprotbrough & Cusworth Crusaders Red

THE Crusaders may be struggling to get going this season and still chasing their first positive result, but their determination and enjoyment of the game refuses to wane.

Under 13

Brodsworth Welfare

BRODDY have been keen to show that a clean sweep of defeats in September was just them struggling to get out of bed. Victory in all bar one game in October backed up that point.

Under 14

Scawthorpe Scorpions

THE Scorpions are the only team in the age group to have not dropped a point, making them hot early favourites for the Premier Division title. They are also in the League Cup quarter finals.

Under 15

Markham

YOU would not know Markham are still looking for their first positive result of the season by the attitude of players and officials alike with their never give up approach making them a credit to the league.

Under 16

Stainforth Juniors Blue

THE commitment, pride and passion of this Stainforth outfit refuses to waver despite a string of hefty defeats and the on going search for an end to their losing streak.

Under 17

Bessacarr

SEVEN wins from seven games in all competitions, Bessacarr lead the way in a highly competitive division. In those seven wins, Bessacarr have failed to score five goals or more on one occasion.
