A TALENTED teenage footballer has kicked-off her international career in style by scoring a hat-trick on her debut, writes Hayley Paterson.

Hannah Cain, who turns 14 next month, was instrumental in North Wales’ 6-1 derby victory over their southern counterparts with the Arksey youngster playing a part in every single goal, netting three.

Following her first taste of international duty, the sought-after Sheffield United centre of excellence star has been invited back to the Welsh camp with hopes that she will play for them in upcoming fixtures, lining up against the likes of Belgium and Finland.

However, the tricky fast-paced forward has also had England coaches knocking at her door and was last week invited to attend trials in Burton-on-Trent.

Cain, who also played in the Scawthorpe Scorpions boys team when she was younger, will now have the chance to select which country to play for - with both England and Wales said to be certainly interested.

The sports-mad Hill House sports scholarship pupil, of Brooke Way, has been playing football at a high level since the tender age of seven and is also a talented netball and hockey player.
