A Lee Barrowcliffe brace helped Crowle United to their second pre-season victory in a six-goal thriller.
United, who have scored eight goals in their first two friendlies, travelled to face Robert Holme Hall at the IP Arena and used a mixture of first and reserve players for the tie.
Despite Crowle thrashing Hibaldstow a fortnight ago 4-0, there was a marked improvement in the way United played against Robert Holme Hall.
Retaining the ball well, United’s direct play and slick passing proved too much for their Scunthorpe counterparts.
Grabbing a double, Barrowcliffe could have had four goals had it not been for the heroics of the host’s goalkeeper who pulled his side out of trouble all afternoon.
Arron Taylor carried on where he left off in the last game - looking dangerous throughout and also netting during the win.
Martin Davey also looked strong in defence, taking control at the back after United had conceded early on. He also claimed a goal to cap off a good performance.
There was a welcomed return for Josh Simpson who had been missing from the squad all of pre-season. His brother Ben was also highlighted as having a solid performance at left-back following the 4-2 win.
Crowle United XI: Fletcher (Thirkell), Lyons (Tealy), B Simpson, Davey, J Simpson (Hill), Stainforth, D Barrowcliffe, L Barrowcliffe, Odling, Wright (Bradwell), Taylor.
United are next in action on Thursday night in a local derby with AFC Epworth for their final pre-season friendly.
The match takes place at Carrside, Epworth, 6.30pm kick-off.
