THERE’S a new club in town - and it’s just for women and girls who have a passion to play football.

For Epworth Town Belles FC are well on their way to establishing themselves as the Isle’s main female football team.

Town’s juniors are currently training hard in preparation for their league campaign which begins in September.

The Bells caught up with coach Cassie Ellis, 22, during a training session for a special ‘Club Focus’ feature, asking how and why the squad was formed and how one of the world’s most famous women’s teams has provided inspiration for Epworth’s new side.

Ellis, a Retford United LFC player, said: “Girls football across the Isle is the biggest that I have ever seen it since I have been here.

“A couple of the girls have played for Doncaster Belles too which has provided them with a good platform and it is a team they can look up to.”
