Double joy for Epworth’s Chatwin

HENRY Chatwin scored a brace as Epworth Colts under-10s won on their travels.

The Colts faced Dale Park Eagles and managed to return to winning ways against a very stern defence.

Epworth took control in the opening exchanges, however the deadlock could not be broken despite attempts from Chatwin, Harry Reddish and Billy Orton.

The opener eventually came just before half time when Chatwin saw his left-footed effort loop over the host’s keeper for 1-0.

Epworth came out in the second half intent on doubling their lead and did so when a slick pass from Oliver Buttrick released Jack Flowitt who turned and slotted it past the keeper.

The third came following a goal-mouth scramble with Jack Booth making sure as he coolly fired home.

Flowitt then made it four with a well-taken finish before a powerdrive from Chatwin recorded his second of the game and Epworth’s fifth.

The Colts man of the man went to George Metcalf for his outstanding display on the right side of midfield.
