VIDEO: Dickov hails Rovers effort

Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov heaped praise on his players after their 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Goals either side of half-time from Theo Robinson and James Husband ensured the Championship newcomers picked up their first league points of the season.

It was Rovers second successive win on home soil, having beaten Rochdale in the first round of the Capital One Cup earlier this month.

Dickov saluted Robinson, a £150,000 acquisition from Derby County on Thursday, after the speedy striker marked his debut with a goal.

“For the majority of the game we were excellent,” said the Scot.

“It’s fantastic to get the three points and win at home. Defensively we were so solid and astute with how we dealt with Blackburn because they are a good team with good players.”
