AFRICAN strike duo Mamadou Bagayoko and Habib Bamogo plus former Liverpool midfielder Damien Plessis have all agreed terms on January moves to Rovers.
Bagayoko and Bamogo are expected to be in the squad to face Barnsley at the Keepmoat on January 2.
Frenchman Plessis, however, is unlikely to have international clearance until the FA Cup third round clash with Notts County on January 7.
All three are set to pen deals for the rest of the season.
Dean Saunders was keen to bolster his strikeforce after Marc-Antoine Fortune’s loan spell was cut short by West Bromwich Albion and believes French-born duo fit the bill.
Bagayoko, 32, and Bamogo, 29, have trained with Doncaster this week.
McKay told Skysports.com earlier this week: “Both players trained on Wednesday and Dean was very impressed.
“Bamogo is a top player and I have been trying to get him over to the UK for some time.
“He is quick and strong and I believe he will prove to be one of the best players in the Championship when he arrives.
“Unfortunately we lost Marc-Antoine Fortune after he was recalled by West Brom, but Mamadou has the same attributes as Marc and I believe both players could prove a real difference for the side.
“They have both scored lots of goals in France and I am sure they will do the same in England and I’m sure Premier League clubs will be interested.”
Both strikers currently ply their trade in Greece, Bagayoko for PAS Giannena and Bamogo for Panetolikos.
Mali international Bagayoko had successful spells at French top flight sides Nice and Nantes, while Burkino Faso forward Bamogo boasts Ligue 1 giants Marseille on his CV.
Yesterday, the Free Press exclusively broke the news that Plessis was set to be Rovers’ first January signing.
The 23-year-old also trained with Rovers this week and looks set to end a nightmare spell at Greek giants Panathinaikos.
