TRIALISTS Bedsente Gomis and Babacai Diame both found the net as Rovers’ youth team triumphed 3-1 at Denaby United.

Dean Saunders ran the rule over the African pair during the first half of the friendly clash at Old Road in Conisbrough.

And the Rovers boss is set to hand the duo another chance to impress in tonight’s first team friendly at Gainsborough Trinity (7.30pm).

Senegalese attacking midfielder Gomis was blooded in the youth set up of Lens in France where he was born.

The 24-year-old spent time with Almeria in the Spanish Segunda B Division.

Diame is reportedly the brother of recent West Ham United signing Mohamed and also plays in midfield.

The pair lined up along with most of the Rovers youth side that lifted the Alliance Cup last season, minus those who have since signed professional forms.

But it was last season’s Doncaster Senior League Division One winners United who opened the scoring with the prolific Ryan Oakley netting.

Diame levelled the score on the half hour before Gomis handed Rovers the lead.

Striker Chris Whincop grabbed Rovers’ third before the break.
