Saunders: We must match Watford’s spirit

DEAN Saunders insists Rovers must match the hard work and spirit of Watford if they are to have any success at Vicarage Road on New Year’s Eve.

Saunders praised the endeavour of Sean Dyche’s side but believes Rovers’ quality will shine through should they produce an equal amount of effort to their hosts.

He said: “They work their socks off, they’re together as a group and have great spirit.

“They all work hard, they’re a determined team and well organised.

“We’ve got to go out there and match them.

“First you match the spirit and work rate.

“If we do that then I’d like to think that the likes of Diouf, Sharp and Coppinger can hurt the opposition.

“We’ve got a plan in our heads and we have no one to fear because we’ve beaten Southampton and Leicester.

“We’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing because the lads are doing well.”
