JOHN Ryan says Rovers will continue to spend sensibly - and has denied suggestions of a major cash injection at boardroom level.
The arrivals of Pascal Chimbonda and Herita Ilunga - with more new players set to follow - has fuelled speculation of new investment in the club.
But Ryan denied that is the case.
He said: “We had to change our approach.
“We were going down without a trace - and myself and the directors weren’t prepared to stand by and let that happen.
“Dean’s come in and it’s been a fantastic turnaround. But that’s only the start.
“There are no extra funds,” he added.
“What we are doing is using our contacts to help us out.
“Willie McKay, for instance, loves this club and he wants to help us out.
“Football’s a dog eat dog world and we have to do everything possible to keep this club in the Championship.”
