JOHN Ryan has been fined £3,000 and warned about his future conduct after branding the standard of refereeing in England as a “disgrace”.
Ryan was found guilty of misconduct by the Football Association at a personal hearing in Manchester yesterday.
Rovers’ chairman had denied the charge, which came after comments he made in the wake of Doncaster’s 4-3 defeat to Portsmouth last month - a result which condemned Rovers to relegation.
Last month Ryan said in a club statement: “How can you be charged for telling the truth?
“I have even had Portsmouth fans complimenting me on my stance and everyone in the media came down on the side of Doncaster Rovers in this match.”
