Doncaster Rovers’ preparations for League One will culminate in a pre-season friendly with South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.

The Championship new boys will visit the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday, August 2 (3pm).

A week later both sides will launch their Football League campaigns in the division that their opponents just departed.

Rovers last met Rotherham in a friendly two years ago following their relegation from the Championship under Dean Saunders.

The Millers ran out 2-1 winners at the newly-opened New York Stadium.

The two sides’ last competitive meeting was a 3-2 win for Doncaster at the the Keepmoat Stadium in January, 2007.

Rovers have also confirmed practice games against Bradford Park Avenue, Lincoln and Sheffield Wednesday, and are also set to travel to Portugal for a training camp.
